Video games are about learning, but most games present a reality where learning is punished. Most players enjoy games where learning is not the priority. Allocation of resources, numbers games, etc.
Some games are about learning a skill. Fighting Games, MOBAs, Speedrunning games. These are like Martial Arts. I like these games. They’re pretty simple, if you think about it.
Most games are like movies. People want to see a story, or watch something which gives them a nice little feeling.
I just don’t really know what games are, really. They’re so many things at once. It’s almost crazy to me that you could categorize these things this way.
